As part of its work with local primary schools St George's has begun a book club for those in Key Stage 2 based at Jesmond Library.The group meets fortnightly on a Saturday afternoon between 3.30 and 4.30pm, offering children a chance to explore new books with friends.

 This year we've had fantastic fun designing characters, learning what it is to be a hero or villain, looking at how a story is set out, doing quizzes, drawing, creating our own stories, designing bookmarks - and most importantly discussing books! 

"There's nothing I haven't liked doing at book club" - Sam, 9
