ST GEORGE'S WEST WINDOW
RENEWING OUR INHERITANCE
PHASE 1
 
This huge and unique window is in urgent need of repair.   It was an integral part of the design of the church, drawing the eye up to heaven and the coming of Christ in glory at the end of time.   Now beginning to collapse under its own weight and letting in water, it is also damaging the stone in which it is set.   The glass is cracked in places and the lead work needs to be renewed.
 
The project involves

• Removing the window itself
• Cleaning it
• Mounting it in a new frame with isothermal protection and reinstating it

• Repointing the upper west gable of the church

Cost: £4,773

£50,773
 
The church has applied for grant aid from the Heritage Lottery Fund.  
Personal donations already stand at £14,000.
