Nick arrived in Jesmond to be vicar of St George’s and St Hilda’s in July 2006.
Before coming to Newcastle, Nick was a parish priest in County Durham and involved in clergy in-service training.

Pauline joined the team in November 2010. She combines being Associate Priest at St George's and St Hilda's with her full time job as Professor of Nursing at Northumbria University.
Assistant Curate
The Reverend Alun Ford

Alun was ordained Deacon in July 2011 and is serving as curate at St George’s and St Hilda’s. He trained for the ministry at Westcott House and St John’s College, Cambridge. Previously he studied English at Exeter University, undertook research on medieval manuscripts at Manchester University and was librarian at London University.

Christine is an Ordained Local Minister and is based at St Hilda’s (our partner parish). She is a a former member of Bishop's Council, a former Chair of the Board for Ministry and Training, a former member of the Board of Education, and currently a diocesan representative of Praxis North, a body which concerns itself with liturgy and worship. Christine was previously a lecturer at Northumbria University.

Andrea works in the Parish Office every weekday morning (and sometimes at other times too). She deals with hall bookings and knows where things are, and how things work. She has been Parish Secretary for nine years.
READER
Joan Grenfell
Joan has been licensed as a Reader for 20 years, first at St Hilda’s and then at St George’s. As well as preaching, Joan regularly takes communion to two of the nursing homes in the parish, and she leads regular Bible study groups. Joan is also co-chair of the Mission and Ministry committee.

Ian was elected as churchwarden in April 2010. He will greet you at the door and do feel free to ask him any questions you might have about St George's. He, like the other warden Hilary, is to be spotted out on his bike around Jesmond. Ian is a Modern Languages teacher at a local comp.

Hilary was elected as churchwarden in April 2009. She will also be waiting to greet you at the door. If you have any questions, Hilary will be able to help.
Hilary also lives near the church although travels around Jesmond on her bicycle. She is very active, playing tennis, walking and cycling. She no longer has time to go to work!
